“Last Summer” is a series of works that explore
the theme of our memories and the uniqueness
of the moment. The title doesn’t emply that it'
s actually the last summer, but rather signifies
that each subsequent summer will never be the
same as the ones before.
My works are executed in shades of turquoise
and red, creating a negative film-like
atmosphere, as that is how we perceive our
memories. If we compare a photographic
negative with a complete memory, the negative
represents how we remember moments –
fragments and unfinished images, with
emphasis on the colors we choose to highlight.
The project was presented at an exhibition in
Warsaw at Totuart Gallery in 2024, and I
continue to develop it through new works and
installations.
